Industrial Stretch Film

Description

NovoPacks supplies industrial stretch film to European buyers direct from the manufacturer. Our range includes cast stretch film and blown stretch film, in both machine grade and hand wrap grade, covering the full range of industrial pallet wrapping and unitising applications.

Stretch film — also known as stretch wrap or pallet wrap — is a polyethylene film stretched around a load to hold it secure during storage and transit. It is one of the highest-volume consumable packaging materials in European logistics, used across virtually every industry that moves palletised goods.

Cast vs. Blown Stretch Film

The two main manufacturing processes produce films with different properties suited to different applications. Cast stretch film is produced by extruding molten polymer onto a chilled roller, resulting in a film that is clearer, quieter to unwind, and more consistent in thickness. It is the dominant choice for automated machine wrapping lines and general warehouse use. Blown stretch film is produced by blowing a bubble of molten polymer, giving a tougher, more tear-resistant film with better cling on both sides, preferred for irregular, sharp-edged, or particularly heavy loads.

Machine Grade and Hand Wrap

Our machine-grade stretch film is produced in jumbo rolls for use with rotary arm and turntable pallet wrapping machines. Film width, thickness, and pre-stretch ratio are specified to match your wrapping equipment and load requirements. Hand wrap stretch film is produced in smaller rolls in widths suitable for manual pallet wrapping, with a dispensing core for ergonomic use.

Pre-Stretch Film

Pre-stretched stretch film is extended during manufacture to near its stretch limit, reducing the force required to apply it and significantly reducing the amount of film used per pallet. It is an effective way to reduce packaging material consumption and cost without compromising load security, particularly for high-volume distribution operations.

Coloured and Opaque Stretch Film

Standard stretch film is transparent. Coloured stretch film — available in black, blue, green, and red — is used for load segregation, security, or product identification in warehouse and logistics operations. Black opaque stretch film provides additional security by concealing pallet contents.

Key Features

Cast and blown film options — cast film for clarity and quiet unwinding on automated lines; blown film for higher tear resistance and dual-sided cling on demanding loads.

Machine grade and hand wrap grades — jumbo rolls for rotary arm and turntable wrapping machines, plus ergonomic hand wrap rolls for manual pallet wrapping.

Pre-stretch film for reduced consumption — pre-stretched film reduces film used per pallet by up to 50% compared to standard film, cutting material costs without compromising load security.

Custom gauge and width — thicknesses from 17 to 35 microns for machine film and 17 to 23 microns for hand wrap, in standard and custom widths to match your equipment.

Coloured and opaque variants — standard clear, coloured, and fully opaque black stretch film for load identification, zone segregation, and security wrapping.

Applications

Pallet wrapping and unitising — turntable and rotary arm wrapping machines using machine-grade film to wrap pallets at speed for storage and transport.

Cold chain and refrigerated logistics — cast stretch film performs well at low temperatures, maintaining cling and load stability throughout the cold chain.

Food and beverage manufacturing — machine-grade stretch film for finished goods pallets before despatch, with food-contact compliant grades available.

Building materials and construction — higher-gauge and blown options for heavy and sharp-edged loads including bricks, tiles, timber, and insulation boards.

Chemical and industrial products — drums, pails, and IBC containers stretch-wrapped for transit security; coloured film for UV protection and load concealment.
